Every morning at 8:30, well closer to 9:00 am, my neighbor Sancheen and I go walking for about a mile. We take the girls and head out. I really enjoy this walk because it helps get me going early in the day and get the exercise I need to keep me not feeling lethargic all day. What is nice is that we walk the paved trail just below Grand Ave., its a nice scenic walk and not noisy at all. Plus you get your passerbys who say "hello" and you just feel like one of those people, you know the active walkers group. Sancheen and I get along great and we just talk talk talk! Theres a hill at the end that is a little steep for a short time and by the time we get up it we have to catch our breath because we just chatted the whole way and now have no oxygen. This is a really good way to exercise because you have someone you have to answer to if you don't want to go, you burn a lot of time before nap time, you work up a sweat but you can't tell, no one can see you so you don't worry about how you look or if you need to stop, you burn even more calories pushing a stroller, and when you get home its almost nap time. The only downfall of this walk is that we saw a snake once. Yes we freaked! out. We probably burned the most calories that day. Now to put this into perspective of how well this is for you I will make a pros list.
1. Working out in the morning is the best time because it invigorates your body and mind and keeps you lasting through out the day.
2. Walking is simple yet effective at a good pace and pushing a stroller.
3. In the last two days I have walked 2 miles and burned 200 calories.
4. Since I am using Slim Fast shakes for breakfast, which are 200 calories, I burn as many calories as I consume.
5. Since the best way to lost weight is to reduce your calorie intake, as long as you watch your calories for the rest of the day, you will lose weight.
6. Only healthy eating AND exercise are going to help lose weight you want and change your lifestyle to keep it off!
I wrote this blog to help me stay motivated and pursuant of my goal.
