I have been wanting to write a post about my little girl, because lately I have been so thankful for her and so blessed to have her little spirit in my life. (this is a bragging post, so beware those who are unsure about how you feel about your little ones right now).
There are 3 things specifically that come to mind that I am so grateful for in Evalie:
1) As of late, I have been reminded yet again how nice it is to have a child that doesn't fight sleep and going to bed. Even if you picked a random time of day to ask her to lay down and rest, she will do. Even if it is someone else putting her down, she will do it without resistance. Sure she may say "no nigh nigh" but she won't actually fight you. She sleeps for at least 12 hours at night and then another 3-4 during the day. I cannot stress how nice this is for me.
2) She is an obedient child. If she is going to far away and I ask her to stop and come back, she does! She is good at listening and understanding the consequences of her actions. Today we were at the store and she picked up a big fuzzy round pillow to play with. I let her play for a minute then we were moving on, I asked her to put it back, she did. Then later she got a hold of candy she wanted, I asked her to put it back, she did. And again a third time with a toy, I asked and she did. She really does want to be a good girl, nothing she does is ever malicious or intent on harming.
3) Her personality has won over the hearts of many. Lately it has been really influencing her daddy. He is a strong willed person when it comes to doing the right thing, like having milk and not chocolate milk for dinner, but Evalie will ask so sweetly and cute. He has a hard time refusing. I love watching her work on him, because sometimes she can accomplish what I can't with him and that amazes me. Her words are coming, along with her love of music. She loves to dance and sing to her Christmas songs and ABC's. One day as we were driving she starting singing "na na na na..na na na na... hey hey hey, good bye"
We love our little girl. We love how she is turning out. We love listening to her stories and her voice. We love putting her to bed. We love experiencing her firsts.

Ahhh... Evalie, she'll make a good big sis.
Oh Evalie. I miss you!
Sheesh, rub it in already. ;-)
We LOVE Evalie Ila and we wish we could steal her for a month or two. Or a day or two. Or forever. When it's your own child I think you can be too close to see things like this, but since she's your child, Ben and I feel like we can see areas where she takes after her mother, areas where she's all her daddy, and areas that are uniquely her own spirit shining through. She is definitely a masterpiece mix of two great parents and one special girl.
She really is a great kid!! Cute, smart, independant, and just a good little girl. We love her too!
